Greater Springfield founder and visionary Maha Sinnathamby AM says the future is bright for the burgeoning city – and in fulfilling its potential is really only just getting started.

With a new AFLW stadium, sporting fields, CBD development with office buildings, global energy partnerships, nationally leading IT and Data projects and city-style apartment living, Greater Springfield is on track to maintain its unprecedented growth.

In fact, Greater Springfield is only 25 per cent complete and with a growth rate of more than six per cent per year over the next 20 years, its current population of more than 40,000 is predicted to triple in size to approximately the size of Darwin.

Mr Sinnathamby conceived of Greater Springfield 26 years ago with Deputy Chairman Bob Sharpless who both remain at the helm as the city’s Master Developer.

Greater Springfield is built on the foundations of health, education and IT and the pair said their sights were set firmly on delivering their comprehensive vision – including the commercial and thriving CBD of the region.

“I am so proud of what we have achieved, the tight-knit community that has been brought to life and very excited for what the future holds,” Mr Sinnathamby said.

“This project to date has experienced more than $17 billion of investment and is moving at a rate of more than $600 million per year. Greater Springfield is not just another master-planned development – it is the heart of Australia’s fastest growing and most liveable city.”

Mr Sinnathamby said while many developers had dreams and aspirations of delivering a master-planned community, it required time, grit and steely determination to effectively execute and deliver bold goals.

“We have always had “skin in the game” and therefore understand better than most the drive and focus it requires to stick to your vision to achieve your goals,” Mr Sinnathamby said.

“I am extremely passionate about investing in and uplifting the community – particularly through education. When we first acquired this land, it was socially and economically depressed, but we have turned that around to a place which now provides world-class education, health facilities and infrastructure.

“Education is the soul of Greater Springfield and it has always been our vision to create a Learning City. From public to private, universities to skills training, our residents have access to world-class educational opportunities.

“We are also very proud of what the 11 schools and education providers are delivering here through the new Greater Springfield Learning Coalition, by lowering barriers and coming together to produce better outcomes for all students.”
