The Springfield CBD, occupying some 390ha, will provide an employment base for 30,000 workers within an area containing in excess of 1.4 million m2 of office, retail, educational, health and technology facilities. Yarrabilba is located 40 kilometres south east of the Brisbane CBD, 35 kilometres north west of Southport and 15 minutes from Logan Central. It is 2,012 hectares in size. Yarrabilba will become home to approximately 45,000 + people upon completion. Approximately 17,000 residential dwellings in addition to a town centre, neighbourhood hubs and community, education and employment facilities will be delivered upon completion. Over 25% of the site will be reserved for open space, including environmental corridors, bushland reserves, parks, landscaped areas and playing fields.
