Coles has announced it has created new jobs at Springfield and across Brisbane’s southwest, with more vacancies still on offer.
Coles has announced it has created 12 new jobs in Greater Springfield and 64 new jobs across Brisbane’s southwest suburbs, with another 75 positions still on offer.
A Coles spokesman said Springfield stores had created 12 new jobs at stores including Coles at Orion Springfield Central and First Choice Liquor Market in Springfield.
Information for the southwest region was for 64 new jobs across Coles stores including at Redbank, Forest Lake and Corinda.
The company is looking to hire around 75 more team members.
Coles said the local recruits were being fast-tracked into supermarkets and liquor stores.
They had come from a wide range of industries and businesses including businesses in travel, sport,
fitness and hospitality that had been forced to stand down staff.
Nationally, Coles has recruited more than 7000 people in two weeks to meet customer demand and has now extended the recruitment drive by opening an additional 5000 positions across the country.

liquor stores, Customer Service Agents to deliver orders to Coles online customers, and more than 100 trade qualified bakers for in-store bakeries.
Coles chief executive Steven Cain said Coles was delighted with the response to the recruitment callout and would continue to work with other major employers and unions to find job opportunities for businesses that were recently forced to reduce team numbers.
Since the recruitment drive began, Coles has offered more than 6500 casual positions to applicants, as well as 430 part-time and 80 full-time management positions nationally.
By State, Coles has offered around 1800 jobs in Queensland, 1700 jobs in Victoria and 2000 in New South Wales
